2007 Legislative Assembly Results

Each October the priority issues of the Washington State PTA are chosen at Legislative Assembly. This year 297 PTA members from around the state gathered to vote on WSPTSA's top 5 priority issues. These priority issues will be the main focus of PTA's activities during the legislative session.

2007/2008 Top Five Priority Issues:

  1. K-12 Education Funding
  2. Math and Science Education
  3. Quality Teaching
  4. Student Support Services
  5. Special Education Funding

Please note that even though Simple Majority for School Bonds was not made one of the top priorities for 2007/2008, it remains one of WSPTA's priority issues. Due to the fact that our legislators agreed, when approving Simple Majority for School Levies, that they would under no circumstances bring Simple Majority for School Bonds to the floor this coming legislative session, it was believed that PTA's resources would be better spent elsewhere this year. But rest assured that Simple Majority for School Bonds will be revisited next year, as long as Simple Majority for School Levies (4204) is approved.
