Help Wanted — Volunteer Opportunities

“Just in Time” Volunteering
A little time to volunteer?

Now that the craziness of the school year start has settled into routine, you may find you have a little time to volunteer at FCES. We have a "Call For Volunteers" email list that we would love to beef up this year. Anytime PTSA or a staff member might need random help, we email out the call. It's a great way to volunteer for one-off things when you have time to give. If you can't volunteer, no problem. Simply don't reply. If you would like to be added to this list or verify you are still on the list, please contact Shirley Schattenkerk.

Also, check out the current list of volunteers needed below.

Family Math Night
Parent volunteers at every grade level needed for Family Math Night! We need parents to help monitor math centers and fun PE math stations. Please contact Nina Ramsey if you are available to help out.

Audit Committee
An audit is mandatory for compliance with the state PTSA rules and regulations. The treasury books are reviewed twice a year for the 6 month period ending December 31, and June 30.

Volunteers Needed:
Two volunteers are needed for approximately 2½ hours each audit; no accounting experience is necessary.

The Literacy Team Reading Buddy Program Needs You!
Have you thought about volunteering to be a Reading Buddy? Well, it's not too late. The PTSA Literacy Team Reading Buddy Program needs you! Thus far, the program is serving 62 students, but there are even more students waiting to be placed with a buddy. The Literacy Team wants to ensure that all students who are referred to the program can be matched with a buddy. It only takes 30 minutes a week to be a reading buddy and it makes such a big difference to a young reader. If you would like to be a reading buddy (or to find out more about the program), please contact Susan Harris, Marlyse Cato, or Katie Morris.
